Mark Zuckerberg Finds Religion

Rumor has it that Facebook mogul Mark Zuckerberg has found God. Zuckerberg, of course, announced the revelation on Facebook.

Previously a self-proclaimed atheist, Zuckerberg appears to have experienced a change of heart on December 25, 2016. He posted a Facebook status wishing the community a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. A curious observer commented, asking Zuckerberg whether he was still an atheist. Zuckerberg responded that he has changed his ways, and now feels that “religion is very important.”

Some think the change may have been prompted by a visit Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla, had with the Pope earlier in the year. Zuckerberg was inspired by Pope Francis’ “warmth and kindness.” Another influencer could have been a trip to China in 2015, where Zuckerberg developed an interest in Buddhism. Priscilla is a practicing Buddhist and may have influenced Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg was raised Jewish, but later on began to question his religious upbringing and declared himself an atheist. It appears that Zuckerberg has found answers to some of his questions, and is beginning to have an open mind when it comes to religious beliefs.

The tech genius may have gained some insight from his rise to wealth. Zuckerberg and his wife are known to donate large amounts of their income and live well below their means.

Recently, the pair pledged to donate $3 billion over the next ten years to cure, prevent and treat diseases. This opportunity for generosity and giving may have led Zuckerberg to discover religious compassion. Whether he has pledged allegiance to one religion or not, he will remain a social media god to the rest of us.
