Have you ever heard of Paul Rosenberg? Well, have you ever heard of Eminem?  Good!  Paul Rosenberg is one of the men behind the legend that is Eminem. Paul Rosenberg, Eminem’s old manager, becomes the CEO of Def Jam.  

Def Jam is a cornerstone of Hip Hop, responsible for such acts and LL Cool J, RUN DMC, and The Beastie Boys. Operated by Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons, Def Jam started in 1983.  For over 30 years, Def Jam has launched dozens of artists careers and have song millions of records. Their current roster includes 2 Chainz, Desiigner, Iggy Azalea, Nas, and Kanye West, just to name a few.  Not too bad, right?

Paul Rosenberg is no stranger to running record labels. He, along with Eminem, is a co-founder of Shady Records. Shady Records is partly responsible for the careers of 50 Cent, D-12, Yelawolf, and Slaughterhouse. 

If you’re familiar with Eminem’s work, you will hear skits with him on some of Eminem’s albums.  Rosenberg has also worked with Blink-182 and Action Bronson. Rosenberg also works with Shade 45 on SiriusXM satellite radio. In short, Rosenberg knows the music business, has success managing artists, and knows how to sell records.  

While the change won’t happen until 2018, you can rest assured that Rosenberg has some tricks up his sleeve. With a network of over 90 million dollars, Rosenberg is a great successor to Steve Bartels. Rosenberg will continue to manage Eminem.
