Oscar winner Jamie Foxx saves motorist from fiery car crash

As of Monday night, entertainment triple-threat Jamie Foxx, age 48, went above and beyond the call of duty as a citizen and became a hero as he saved a motorist from near deadly accident. At 8:30pm on January 18, actor, singer, comedian and all around entertainer Jamie Foxx was home at his residence on Potrero Road in Hidden Valley, California when the sound of a vehicle getting ripped apart just outside caused him to rush out to see what the commotion was.

An ‘07 Toyota Tacoma truck owned and driven by Brett Kyle of Newbury Park, age 32, had been traveling too quickly down the winding and twisting road in front of the actors home and rather than making the tight turn, it tumbled and rolled several times before bursting into flames and landing flat on its passenger side.

That was when Foxx called 911, and with the help of an unnamed off duty EMT, the rescue began.

“I grabbed the scissors from him” Foxx said about the experience. “Cut the seatbelt. As we pulled him out within five seconds later the truck goes up in flames.”
Kyle was transported to Los Robles Hospital for treatments of several broken bones and burns, and was also charged by local authorities with DUI.

Foxx also suffered several cuts and burns from the rescue on his hands, but all are minor injuries.
Later in the week, Foxx met with the father of Brett Kyle so that on his the father’s insistence, he could thank him in person.

“It doesn’t matter to me who it was or what they do for a living” said Brad Kyle, Brett’s father. ”Just the idea that someone would do that is so much more than I could fathom. He’s got two sisters and a brother. They would have lost their brother if it wasn’t for him.”
From what was seen on Foxx private surveillance footage of the street in front of the residence, Brad Kyle would be correct. Several vehicles drove right past the fiery overturned vehicle and none stopped to assist.

On Wednesday Mr. Foxx humbly posted his thoughts on the situation in a heartwarming post onto Instagram “Met the father of the young man from last night today. This is all that matters. That a man, a son, a brother's life was spared last night. God had his arms wrapped around all of us...No heroes...Just happy fathers.”
