Drake covers "The Fader" 100th anniversary campaign, talks about the industry and Meek Mill feud

Ideally, if you yearn for information long enough, you just might receive it. If you're lucky, you might find it laying in a ditch, alongside the yellow brick road, sealed in duct tape.

The world has been desperately waiting for another infamous Drake interview. And now, our wishes have finally come true. Drake landed on the cover of the 100th anniversary issue of the Fader (Shot by Mark Peckmezian and JJ). He sat down with them and opened up about his recent trials and controversy related to his music and the industry. He was very vocal about his collaborative efforts in writing songs, his brotherhood with Skepta and his beef with Meek Mill. Pay close attention to the assertion:

“By the standard I hold myself and 40 to, it’s a bit broken,” he says. “There’s corners cut, in the sense of fluidity and song transition, and just things that we spend weeks and months on that make our albums what they are.”

"Music at times can be a collaborative process, you know? Who came up with this, who came up with that—for me, it’s like, I know that it takes me to execute every single thing that I’ve done up until this point. And I’m not ashamed."

“This is a discussion about music, and no one’s putting forth any music?… Nobody told you that this was a bad idea, to engage in this and not have something?…It was weighing heavy on me. I didn’t get it. I didn’t get how there was no strategy on the opposite end. I just didn’t understand. I didn’t understand it because that’s just not how we operate.”

Who ever would have thought the young Canadian would open up out of a Moncler/Northface jacket shell.. At this point, the views from the 6 are becoming more and more legendary by the day. Check out the full story at The Fader.
