Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.

Lloyd, who played last season for the San Francisco 49ers, retires with 399 catches for 5,989 and 36 touchdown receptions. At 34 years old he leaves the NFL in good condition and high spirits which is nice to witness as some exits from the league aren’t so pleasant.

When asked about his time in the NFL and retirement Lloyd stated, "I am so thankful for the years I spent in the NFL," Lloyd said in a statement. "I do not have one regret, and I am blessed to leave the game in such a healthy and happy place. I will do all I can to positively represent the league and its players for the rest of my life."

In 2010 while he was with the Denver Broncos when he had 1,448 yards and earned the only Pro Bowl honors of his career.

Lloyd’s career had him with the 49ers, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Broncos, St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots. He was a fourth-round pick by San Francisco in the 2003 draft after attending the University of Illinois.

Good on you Lloyd for knowing when to call it quits. Now go out into the world and do ex-football pro things, whatever that might be.
