Pi - Director Darren Aronofsky’s first feature film, Pi is a dark black-and-white thriller of sorts. When Sean (Maximillian Cohen) becomes obsessed with an unknowable number, he gets wrapped up in a mysterious conspiracy. It’s hard to explain and VERY strange, but it’s worth watching to see this brilliant director’s roots. (He later went on to direct Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan, and Noah - Actually watch all of these.)

Kung Fu Hustle - The best Stephen Chow movie ever. A kung fu, 40s gangster, and Looney Tunes movie rolled into one. The fight choreography, special effects, laughs, and music are all top notch. I consider this a must!

Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil - Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk play redneck brothers in the creepy woods. I shouldn’t need to say more but in case I do, they are surrounded by comical death and dismemberment.

Equilibrium - Pre-Batman Christian Bale plays a law enforcer in a 1984-style future. And yes...

It’s. Fucking. Awesome. Phantoms - I’ve seen this movie 10 times and I still can’t really tell you what the hell is going on. But it’s creepy, cool, and to quote Jay and Silent Bob: Ben Affleck is the bomb. Nooge.
