Tiffany Trump Shunned at Fashion Week

Last week at New York Fashion Week, Tiffany Trump was shunned at the Philipp Plein show. Other attendees noticed that Tiffany was surrounded by empty seats at the show, and surmised that no one wanted to sit next to the first daughter.

The 23 year old youngest daughter of our new president was caught on camera next to empty seats on a bench, surrounded by programs proclaiming ‘Let’s Make NYFW Great Again.’ The irony was not lost on fashion writer Christina Binkley, who made sure to tweet about Tiffany’s predicament.

Other fashion writers and editors made a point of avoiding Tiffany, including Alyssa Vingan Klein who is the editor-and-chief of Fashionista.com. Klein tweeted that the seating was a “s***show at Philipp Plein because no editors want to sit near Tiffany Trump.” Elle.com senior fashion editor Nikki Ogunnaike replied to the tweet that they had moved down the hall and remarked that editors were “fleeing just so they don't have to sit behind Tiffany Trump.”

However, after the show, Christina Binkley corrected herself, stating that the seats she had photographed were filled moments later. Even Philipp Plein defended Tiffany, stating that she is “not a politician, she’s a teenager.”

The children of the current president are reaping the unfortunate consequences of their father’s new role, and some appear to be taking it farther than may be fair. Whoopi Goldberg offered to sit with Tiffany at the next show, stating “You know what, Tiffany, I'm supposed to go to a couple more shows. I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm coming to sit with you.” Hopefully others will follow in Goldberg’s footsteps to avoid mixing business with pleasure.
