Caitlyn Jenner Reveals Her Deepest Secrets At IVY Book Release Party

Caitlyn Jenner’s new memoir The Secrets of My Life was released on April 25th and it was celebrated with a special Book Release Party and discussion with the author at The Writer’s Guild of America Theatre in Beverly Hills hosted by The IVY.

The IVY defines itself as a Social University which provides special events and learning opportunities on topics such as the arts, entrepreneurship, and social issues for its members. 

During the discussion, Jenner spoke about her battles with living in the public eye, her relationship with her ultra-famous children and step-children, and also gave insight on the difficulties and triumphs of her very public transition. She also spoke briefly about her political leanings which have garnered her a good deal of controversy during the 2016 election.

However, she came across as very civil and well-rehearsed. When asked about her conservative beliefs during the Q&A she said that her father was a World War II veteran who did not believe in big government and neither does she, stating that she simply believed in small government and “individual freedoms.” 

 “I got more crucified for being conservative Republican than I did for being trans,” Jenner said with a laugh. 

Caitlyn Jenner broke the world decathlon record in 1976 at the Olympic Games in Montreal and has been in the public eye ever since. She made waves when she came out as transgender in a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer in 2015 and made waves again when she appeared on the now iconic cover of Vanity Fair two months later.

Though her reality show I Am Cait was cancelled after two seasons, she still regularly appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and she recently launched the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation which advocates for equal rights for transgender people.
