The upcoming film, created in collaboration with AGT All-Star Caly Bevie and leading Web3 artists, follows the soul-searching and breathtaking physical journey of a group who climb to the top of Mount Ijen in Bali.
The film’s purpose is to prove that even though technology is leaving us more disconnected than ever before, the healing power of nature and art can bring balance back to our relationship with technology and the Earth. The ‘Eartheans’ who made the journey express how hectic and muddled their lives have become as they get caught up in our fast-paced world. They talk about how technology, knowledge, money, data, health, and freedoms have morphed unrecognizably, forgetting the simpler and most beautiful things that life on planet Earth has to offer.
The film aims to demonstrate that the key to reclaiming sovereignty in our increasingly digital lives, is in giving the right artists and creators the tools and power to create for a purpose bigger than themselves. It shows that people - anyone, anywhere - can make money while helping the Earth, and that we must create incentives for technology to heal the collective.
ReFi, or “Regenerative Finance,” refers to this effort to strip the culture of price speculation and gambling, and replace it with “Regens” (counter to “Degens”), or those who care about doing good for the world.
